The Chinese and Turkish people have had a history of friendly exchange since ancient times.
The discovery of the Hushu Baojitang Ma’s Genealogy filled the gap in the study of the Ma’s
clan in the history of the Chinese Hui family. Baojitang’s ancestor Ma Bai-bao-wu-ding came
from the country that was the farthest along the Silk Road at that time-the country of Lumi
(mí) , currently the Turkish city of Istanbul. Ma Bai-hao-wuding led a large group to China
to tribute, indicating the importance and friendship of his country to China. Hui
astronomers visited China to make up for the shortcomings of traditional Chinese astronomy.
The Hui people made outstanding contributions in establishment, consolidation and
development of the Ming Dynasty, and were localized in China in long-term friendly exchange
with Chinese, which was valued by the rulers of the Ming Dynasty.
